This is Cute......

I think I should get this to read with Jane.
She is having a hard time
understanding that milk is hidden
everywhere and I can't eat many things.
I found it on another
Milk allergy site : http://avoidingmilkprotein.blogspot.com/

So with explaining this big change.....this may help.

My Swollen Lips and My Obsession to Find it as a Milk Allergy

OK.
I am so sorry to those of you who did not want to see these.....
photos of my swollen face.
This has been happening along with horrible hives all over
The lip swelling happens at least 3 days per week
since Christmas Eve 2008.
I am so ready to be done with it.

These are from Sunday night,
Monday morning
before my allergy appointment.
I have been trying to take photos
to keep track of how it goes and all.
So I had said on facebook that I would be
surprised if it was not a milk allergy.
The appointment went well and the Allergist explained a lot.
It was interesting
and they had me lay on my stomach
and the lady who was going to put the
allergens on came in and was surprised.
She said that she did not expect so many hives on my back.
So, she randomly put the stuff on
and left
and returned
15 minutes later
saying that there were not any reactions
to the allergens that she put on me.
Not allergic to milk...
she said.
And then wiped everything off.
Making me crazy!
So I went and placed my prescriptions
and we went to Sonic
and I ate and then my lip swelled again.
WHAT?
Tuesday....there ain't not hives on me...so happy.
Wednesday...they were slowly returning...
only not as badly.
But they were back!
So the last few days I have been sticking
my forearms with a needle....
one without milk
and an other spot
I dab milk
on my arm
and then stick my arm through the dab of milk.
It comes up each time with hives
on the milk one
and it takes longer than
15 minutes.
HELLO!
Making a phone call tomorrow.

Even if I just went in
and they stab me
and I wait in the lobby for an hour.
Geesh.

Way below
are the lip photos.
So you don't have to look at it.
I know they are freakishly large.

This is my "normal" look.

Just getting started....

Within 15 minutes......

Crap....this time it hurts...

Kissy, Kissy! Muuahh!
Sorry to post this....not at all the most flattering photos of me.
~~~~~~~
I can not give up.
I am becoming just a tad obsessed about finding out.
I have to.
Love,
Bree
Eventful Day
I have had some pretty nasty swelling.
Lips, eye lids, fingers and toes.
I have been able to catch it early enough
with my fingers to take my rings off.
Well, too late this morning.
I made a visit to the Fire Dept. in
Conway after calling Dad
to find out if they do cut rings off.
Before I could even ask...
Dad said Firemen can do it.
Off I went.
There were at least 7 there
and none of them had ever used this freaky little tool.
But they got it off and saved the day.
Once it was off there was instant relief.
I thought...
save the ring
and wait for the swelling to go down
in uummm,
12 hours.
No.
The swelling would not have gone down.
The ring can be repaired.
I believe this is due to having a little bit of butter
on my fingers from making corn
for Jane and Charlie.
I my have contaminated my food with it.
It is hard to pinpoint because the reaction
does not surface until 6 to 12 hours later.
I think I will have to were latex gloves like my Mom has said.
Hashimoto's
On June 17th I had an appointment in
Little Rock with the Endo Dr.
finally.
He did confirm my thoughts
of me having
Hashimoto's.
It is nice to have a doctor say
yes you do have Hashimoto's.
Although he does not believe that the sudden milk allergy and the Hashimoto's is related.
I am not a doctor.....
but by what I have read,
an allergy is the immune system
attacking a substance it finds to be foreign.
And Hashimoto's is an immune disease, right?
I also really think that the
Metabolic Research Diet
I had been on for almost 3 months had something to do with it.
The protein drinks,
I have found,
are milk whey protein.
And with me going to them
and saying my Dr. has given me a note
and has requested that I stop the diet.
I was having chest pains and hives and swelling face.
They said
"Oh, well we don't have anything that would cause
chest pains and hives....
just keep on with the program."
Um mm, no.
So frustrating and such a waste of money!
I can do it though! The right way. With exercise and eating right and balanced. Not too much of any one thing.....like protein....whey protein.
I started a Weight Management class last week and I went again today.....2 pounds lighter!
Thank you very much....
I see a bright future....
Such A Change
I tell ya...it is amazing the change that has happened with me.....
going to the gym every weekday
and no eating out.
And not eating out is because of the
fear of the dairy in every thing.
I am feeling great and have lost 10 pounds.
NICE!!
